CASPER, Wyo. — Casper resident and business owner Brian Costello announced Thursday his candidacy for Wyoming House District 37.
Costello, a lifelong Republican and educator, said he is running to provide conservative leadership focused on local control and economic growth. He currently teaches and coaches at Natrona County High School.
“It’s time to give back in a way that will leave Casper in a better place than I found it,” Costello said.
The candidate said his platform includes protecting access to public lands, increasing affordable housing and expanding job opportunities for youth. He emphasized a desire to foster a business-friendly environment to help residents build futures within the state.
A lifelong Wyomingite, Costello said his roots in the state inform his dedication to preserving the “Wyoming way of life.” He and his wife, Amy, are currently working to climb the highest peak in every mountain range in Wyoming.
If elected, Costello said he intends to focus on practical decision-making in Cheyenne.
“I’ll be proud to go to Cheyenne on behalf of HD 37 with the goal of More Results, Less Drama,” he said.
Costello is running against fellow Republican Ross Schriftman in the Aug. 18 primary election. Democrat Betsy Erickson also seeks the seat.
Costello added he plans to launch a campaign website and local communication initiatives soon. Residents can reach him at 307-797-7437 or brian@costelloforcasper.com.
