North Little Rock Police Department investigating death of 4-year-old boy found in apartment pool

The North Little Rock Police Department is investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy Wednesday morning.

Around 5:53 a.m., officers responded to an apartment complex in the 5700 block of Summertree Drive in response to a call about a missing child, according to a media release. Upon their arrival the officers were told the boy was autistic and non-verbal.

A search by officers found the boy unresponsive in the apartment complex’s swimming pool.

The boy was removed from the pool and officers attempted life-saving measures until paramedics could arrive. The boy was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The boy’s body will be taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death.

Anyone with information regarding this incident can contact the North Little Rock Police Department Tip Line at (501) 680-8439.
