Manchester City stage late comeback to reach fourth straight FA cup final

Manchester City produced a dramatic late comeback to defeat Southampton 2–1 and book their place in a record fourth consecutive FA Cup final.

A heavily rotated City side found it difficult to break down Southampton’s disciplined defence and were punished late in the game when midfielder Finn Azaz unleashed a superb strike to give the hosts the lead with just 11 minutes remaining.

But according to ESPN, Southampton’s celebrations were short-lived. Substitute Jérémy Doku levelled the match only three minutes later, before teammate Nico González fired in a spectacular 87th-minute winner to complete the turnaround.

Manager Pep Guardiola now leads his side back to Wembley Stadium, where they will chase a domestic double, having already lifted the Carabao Cup there in March.

Manchester City will face either Chelsea or Leeds United in the final.
