66 startups join 3rd edition of growth tech programme in Muscat

MUSCAT – The programme is an initiative undertaken by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology to support emerging technology companies. It constitutes a step forward in responding to a rising trend in the sector of technology companies and digitized entrepreneurship. It also reflects the growing role of specialized programmes in accelerating the growth of companies and enhancing their competitiveness.
The event was held under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Ali Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology.
The programme seeks to enable technology companies and startups to achieve sustainable growth. It provides the companies with necessary knowledge and expertise, stimulates their local and regional expansion and increases the percentage of local content in the sector of communications and information technology.
The programme offers a comprehensive package of services, including specialized consultancies that are provided by local and international experts. Its services cover marketing strategies, accelerated growth measures, developing of technological products, enhancing preparedness for investment and establishing organizational structures.
The programme also includes promotional support, as it provides advertising spaces for beneficiaries on various platforms. This contributes to enhancing the presence of companies and empowering them to reach wider segments of customers.

The programme also helps the companies garner opportunities and foster partnerships by linking them with public and private sector establishments. In addition, it enables the target companies to participate in local, regional and global events.
Access to the programme requires the interested parties to meet a number of criteria. The companies wishing to join the programme should have remarkable growth rates, own a technical product or service and have active user bases, in addition to licensed business records and actual presence in the market.
The third edition of the programme termed “Growth” is in pursuance of constant efforts to enhance the system of innovation and digitized entrepreneurship. It lends support to the role of technical companies and startups that serve as a basic driver of the digital economy and sustainable economic development.
As many as 152 technology companies and startups are affiliated to the programme. The first and second editions of the program benefited 86 companies in a variety of ways.
