Weather alert in place for Northern Michigan Thursday morning

The National Weather Service released a special weather statement at 7:32 a.m. EDT on Thursday until 10 a.m. EDT for Emmet, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Leelanau, Antrim, Otsego, Montmorency, Alpena, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Crawford, Oscoda, Alcona, Manistee, Wexford, Missaukee, Roscommon, Ogemaw, Iosco, Gladwin, Arenac and Charlevoix counties.

“Patches of dense fog will linger across much of northern Michigan through this morning, especially across areas near bodies of water and recent rainfall. Visibilities of 1/4 mile or less are being observed. Given quick drops in visibility, be sure to take the proper precautions while driving this morning,” says the weather service.
