Update: Flash flood warning for Northern Michigan until Tuesday morning caused by thunderstorms

An updated flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 3:11 a.m. EDT in effect until 6:15 a.m. EDT for Antrim, Crawford and Kalkaska counties.

“At 3:11 a.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly,” describes the weather service. “Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.”
