Karnataka allows 7.5% fee hike for govt. quota engineering seats in private colleges

In order to attract students to courses such as Civil and Mechanical for which the demand has fallen over the years, the government had also given a 50% fee waiver.

The fees for government quota engineering and architecture seats in private engineering colleges in Karnataka will increase by 7.5% for the year 2026-27.

In a recent meeting chaired by Higher Education Minister M.C. Sudhakar with the private engineering managements, it was decided that a fee increase for government quota seats in private engineering colleges by 7.5% would be allowed for the next academic year, said sources.
