WESTPORT, Mass. (WLNE) — The Westport Police Department said a man charged with indecent battery on a child under 14 was arraigned.

John Vasconcellos, of Westport, was charged with two counts of indecent battery on a child under 14.

After an investigation by Westport police, with the assistance of Somerset police, Vasconcellos was arrested in Westport on Dec. 5.

He was arraigned and given $10,000 bail.

According to Westport police, the defendant was unable to post bail and is being held at the Bristol County House of Correction.
