Alabama got a welcome dose of rain and a few storms overnight, but the storms stayed under severe limits.
The severe weather threat is almost — but not quite — over for Alabama.
Rain, sometimes heavy, continued to track through parts of south and east Alabama on Sunday morning.
NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center is maintaining a Level 1 out of 5 (marginal) risk for severe storms for south and east Alabama through the morning hours:

A Level 1 risk means that isolated severe storms will be possible. The strongest of those could have damaging wind gusts.
There were some gusty winds overnight as rain and storms moved through Alabama, but the National Weather Service didn’t have to issue a single severe weather warning.
The remaining storms are expected to continue to drop south and east through the morning hours and eventually move into Georgia and Florida.
Showers could linger through the afternoon hours in some locations, and the weather service expects winds to be breezy, but the bigger story will be cooler air moving in from the northwest through the day.
High temperatures on Sunday will be cooler for those in north and parts of central Alabama, while it will still be warm in south Alabama.
Parts of north Alabama may not make it out of the 60s today, while low to mid-70s are expected in central Alabama. South Alabama will still top out in the 80s today.
Expect skies to begin clearing from west to east starting this afternoon.
