SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Sturgis police have arrested four individuals after a high-speed pursuit regarding the rape and aggravated kidnapping of a 15-year-old girl.

According to a press release, on October 7, Sturgis police received a report of a 15-year-old female who was held against her will and escaped a residence in Sturgis.

Upon interviewing the juvenile, it was learned that she had been sexually assaulted and forced to consume illegal drugs. Through investigation, officers were able to identify a suspect and the location where the crimes had occurred.

Surveillance was conducted and a suspect was observed leaving the residence with three others. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver refused and a pursuit began.

The pursuit continued in and around Sturgis at high speed with reckless driving. The chase then extended through Deadwood, Lead and into Spearfish Canyon. Multiple attempts at using spike strips occurred but were unsuccessful.

During the pursuit, multiple items of drug paraphernalia and controlled substances were thrown from the vehicle.

All passengers were taken into custody and face multiple charges for the pursuit.

Authorities say that the driver, Michael Wilson of Sturgis, was arrested for multiple felony offenses, including Rape, Aggravated Kidnapping and various other drug and pursuit-related charges.

The case remains under investigation.
