JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A man pled guilty in connection to an armed robbery that occurred outside of a Jackson auto parts store.
Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens announced Marshun Payne pled guilty to one count of armed robbery.

The incident occurred outside the Advanced Auto Parts store in the 1200 block of Ellis Avenue on October 6, 2023. After the victim arrived at the store, he was approached by Payne who claimed to work at the business.
Authorities said Payne threatened to shoot Woods if he moved and forcibly transferred $900 from the victim’s Cash App account.

Payne was sentenced to 40 years, with 20 years suspended. Owens said Payne will serve 20 years in custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
