JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The 166th Mississippi State Fair will open its gates at 11:00 a.m. on October 2, 2025, at the Mississippi State Fairgrounds in Jackson.
The fair runs from October 2-13, 2025, and is participating in the Great American State Fair initiative as part of the nationwide America250 celebrations. Fairgoers are encouraged to wear red, white and blue, and special, patriotic events will be held throughout the duration of the fair.
Admission is free every weekday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., except on Monday, October 13, which is Columbus Day.

Friday, October 3, is First Responder Friday at the State Fair. All police officers, first responders, firefighters, healthcare workers and medical professionals will be given free admission. Identification will be required at the gate.
