BELOW are some pictures captured in Harare’s Central Business District (CBD) and Mbare Friday which show unusually quiet streets as many people stayed away due to anticipated anti Constitutional Amendments protests.
The protests which were scheduled for 31 July ultimately did not take place.
The CBD, normally bustling with pedestrians and heavy traffic on a Friday, recorded significantly reduced activity, with many residents opting to stay away.
The calm streets were accompanied by a heavy police presence around key areas believed to be potential gathering points, including Robert Mugabe Square and Africa Unity Square, where security details were deployed.
