MUNIR Zulu has cautioned Zambians in the diaspora who claim to support the opposition against using social media to spread hate speech and tribalism.

Zulu said Zambia needs healing and unity, not divisive statements from people based outside the country.

“It is sad that among those who pretend or project themselves as supporting our organisation are the first people to spread hate messages and tribalism. It is nonsensical,” he said.

“They are not here. We are here. They are not taking any food to anyone incarcerated, yet they want to dictate what we should do and what we should not do. Some of us are proud of our land,” Zulu added.

He said the country’s problems could only be properly addressed by Zambians directly affected by them.

Zulu also dismissed as false social media claims about divisions in the Tonse Alliance, stating he was in regular contact with Alliance leader Brian Mundubile and his running mate Makebi Zulu.

“I speak to President Mundubile myself. I know his status and his condition. I speak to President Makebi Zulu. I know his condition. Then you, who has no idea, want to dictate and call us names,” he said.

Zulu further accused some opposition leaders of providing information to individuals who use social media to spread hate speech, and called on the leadership to end the practice.

“We face all the difficulties from our land, from the battlefront. We shall not use social media platforms to handle difficulties. We shall face them head-on,” he said.
