PRESIDENT-Elect Hakainde Hichilema has thanked Zambians for entrusting him with the country’s highest office once again.
Mr. Hichilema said the election demonstrated that Zambia is “a nation of peace, a nation of law and order, a democratic nation that settles our differences at the ballot box, and nowhere else.”
He noted that during the campaign he visited all 116 districts, meeting citizens in cities, compounds, villages and farms, and witnessing the challenges facing the people.
Mr. Hichilema pledged to work for all Zambians, including those who supported the opposition, and said his administration would focus on development, unity and progress.
“Now we must work harder than ever before to deliver meaningful development for every single Zambian, in every corner of our country,” he said.
