THE government has canceled or revoked the passports of six Zambians, including fugitive Kaizer Zulu, on national security grounds.

Others affected are Emmanuel Jay Banda, Lillian Mutambo, Emmanuel Mwamba, former Nkana Member of Parliament Binwell Mpundu, and academician Sishuwa Sishuwa.

According to a government gazette issued Sept. 7, 2026, the Department of National Registration, Passport and Citizenship said the passports were canceled for security reasons and in the interest of national security.

The department said the canceled documents are no longer valid for identification, travel or any official purpose.

“Any use of the canceled documents may constitute an offense. The public, government institutions, financial institutions, border control authorities, law enforcement agencies and all other relevant institutions are accordingly advised not to accept, recognize or rely upon the said documents,” the gazette read.

It said anyone in possession of any of the canceled documents must surrender them immediately to the Department of National Registration, Passport and Citizenship, Immigration or the Zambia Police Service.
