Held under the theme ‘Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate, Prosper’, this year’s APEC Leaders’ Week aims to strengthen dialogue, trust, and cooperation among member economies to address global challenges and promote sustainable, inclusive growth.

Vietnam has been an active contributor to APEC cooperation, helping sustain regional economic momentum amid rising global uncertainties.

The event also provides an opportunity to showcase Vietnam’s dynamic, deeply integrated economy and highlight its role as a responsible and proactive APEC member, as the country prepares to host APEC 2027.

The visit takes place amid strong Vietnam-South Korea ties, particularly since the two countries upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2022.

South Korea is now Vietnam’s largest foreign investor, second-largest ODA provider and tourist source market, third-largest trading partner, and third-largest destination for Vietnamese workers.

In 2024, bilateral trade reached US$81.5 billion, up 7.3 percent year on year.

During the APEC week, President Cuong is expected to meet leaders of APEC economies and hold dialogues with top global business executives.

His engagements are aimed at strengthening bilateral partnerships, attracting investment, and advancing Vietnam’s socio-economic development goals.

The Vietnamese state leader will attend and deliver a keynote speech at the APEC CEO Summit 2025, calling on international friends to continue to accompany, support, and stand side by side with Vietnam in the new development era.
