The expansion comes seven years after NAB established its presence in Vietnam and reflects the bank’s ongoing investment in technology, operations and innovation capabilities in the country.

Founded in 2019, NAB Innovation Center Vietnam has evolved from a technology-focused operation into a multidisciplinary workforce supporting a range of banking functions. The center now contributes across technology, operations and customer experience functions within the bank’s global network.

To accommodate growth, NAB has expanded its office footprint in both cities. In Hanoi, the bank has added two floors at Capital Place, increasing the size of its existing office. In Ho Chi Minh City, it has expanded its office at Hallmark in the Thu Thiem area.

According to Hanh Tran, General Director of NAB Innovation Center Vietnam, the expansion reflects the growing role of the Vietnam operation within the bank’s global workforce strategy.

“This investment reflects our confidence in Vietnamese talent and our commitment to building a Global Capability Center in Vietnam,” she said. “Our focus is on delivering outcomes for customers while creating long-term career opportunities for our people.”

NAB Vietnam’s workforce now exceeds 2,600 employees across Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The organization has also recruited more than 650 interns in recent years as part of its talent development initiatives.

The company said it has been certified as a Great Place to Work for three consecutive years, from 2024 to 2026, and was recently included in Fortune’s list of 100 Best Companies to Work For in Southeast Asia.

Alongside its business activities, NAB Vietnam has continued to support community programs. The bank’s recent NAB Vietnam Virtual Race attracted more than 10,000 participants globally and raised over VND1 billion (US$38,000) to support digital access and technology education for disadvantaged students.

NAB established its Innovation Center in Vietnam in 2019 as part of its broader digital transformation strategy. The center currently operates in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, supporting technology development, operations and customer experience initiatives across the bank.

The bank is among Australia’s largest private-sector investors in Vietnam, reflecting growing economic ties between the two countries.

In recent years, NAB Innovation Center Vietnam has received several industry recognitions. In 2025, it received the Asian Technology Excellence Award for its contribution to NAB’s Pay by Bank solution, a platform designed to facilitate real-time payments. The organization was also recognized at Innovate Vietnam 2025, an event organized by Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Finance.

The latest expansion comes as demand for digital and technology capabilities continues to grow across the global banking sector, with Vietnam playing an increasingly important role in international technology and operations networks.
