In his new role, Dhanawat will oversee efforts to advance digital transformation in Vietnam’s public and private sectors, with a focus on promoting innovation, sustainability, and inclusive economic growth.

Dhanawat brings more than three decades of leadership experience in the information technology sector.

He previously served as the managing director of Microsoft Thailand for eight years.

Before joining Microsoft, he held senior roles at Hewlett Packard and IBM, where he led enterprise sales and spearheaded strategic growth initiatives in Thailand and across Southeast Asia.

He holds an MBA from California State University, San Bernardino, and a BA in accounting from Assumption University in Bangkok.

Speaking about the new appointment, Dhanawat said it was an honor to contribute to Vietnam’s digital future and its goal of becoming a high income economy by 2045.

Mayank Wadhwa, president of Microsoft ASEAN, praised Dhanawat’s strong regional experience and customer focus, saying his leadership would play a key role in supporting Vietnam’s national innovation agenda.
