Vanuatu Archery Team Departs for 2025 Oceania Cup in Fiji

A small team from Vanuatu Archery has departed the country to compete in the World Archery Oceania Cup 2025 in Fiji.

Following a successful appearance at the Palau Mini Games, the team has been preparing over the past months for this major regional event.

National Coach, Francis Runa, told VBTC Sports that the tournament is a significant opportunity for the athletes, as it also serves as key preparation for the 2026 Pacific Games in Papeete, Tahiti.

The Fiji competition will run for three days, starting today and continuing through the weekend.

Team Vanuatu consists of eight athletes and five officials, making a total delegation of 13 members.

Archery, like many developing sports in Vanuatu, continues to grow through national development programs that attract both students and young athletes across the country.

This week, the team has been finalizing equipment preparations ,tuning their bows and arrows , ahead of their first matches in the Oceania Cup.
