Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan national chess team delivered a strong performance at the World Youth Chess Olympiad (U-16), held from 16 to 23 August 2025, in Barranquilla, Colombia.

At the conclusion of the tournament, the Uzbek players secured second place. According to FIDE, the team achieved seven victories and two draws.

First place went to the FIDE 1 team, which won all nine of its matches. Rounding out the top three was the Kazakhstan team, which recorded seven wins and two losses.

Uzbek players also achieved notable individual results. Muhammadzokhid Suyarov finished second on board one, while Khumoyun Begmuratov claimed second place on board two.
