Over 1,700 Dangerous Items Seized in Tashkent During Special Operation “Tig’”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A 21‑day special operation named “Tig’” (“Blade”) has concluded in Tashkent, during which law enforcement officers seized more than 1,700 items that posed potential threats to public safety.

According to the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs, 1,631 individuals were found carrying a total of 1,614 knives, 17 brass knuckles, 19 baseball bats, 7 air guns, 2 stun devices, and a number of other dangerous objects.

The department emphasized that the operation helped prevent numerous potential crimes and offenses.

Authorities also reminded the public that illegal possession of bladed weapons or objects that can be used as such carries a fine ranging from one to five basic calculation units, along with other penalties.
