WOWK High School Football 2025: Week 10

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) – High school football is going into its tenth week of the 2025 season with games happening all over Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia Friday night.

Starting in West Virginia, it’s our Game of the Week. Heading down to Willis-Nisbet Stadium, the Logan Wildcats taking on the Chapmanville Regional Tigers. On the Tigers opening drive, they hand it off to Oreston Kovach. He gets to the outside, uses his speed and dives into the endzone for the touchdown. It was all Chapmanville in this one as they take down Logan, 42-7.

Over to Laidley Field, the Capital Cougars playing host to the George Washington Patriots. Capital’s Fernando Valdivia with the deep pass, but Grant Uldrich of the Patriots comes up with the interception. GW with the ball when it’s handed off to Freshman Jaden Black, and he brings it in for a touchdown. The Patriots get back in the win column as they take down the Capital Cougars, 30-7.

The Cabell Midland Knights welcoming in the Fairview Park Warriors from Ohio. First drive of the game, Cabell Midland has the ball, and Quarter Back Bryson Smith spins out, looks downfield and finds Keian Shelton, who makes two men miss, breaks the tackle and drags two with him into the endzone. The Fairview Park Warriors will finish the season with the win over Cabell Midland, 56-41.

Out in Wayne County, the Spring Valley Timberwolves were taking on the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles. Woodrow Wilson is 2nd and 4 when QB Gage Burdette hands it off to Javonte Wynes, who runs for a first down. Woodrow Wilson 4th and 12 as Burdette passes to Preston Clary for the first touchdown of the game. Spring Valley ends up taking down the Flying Eagles in this one, 29-28.

The South Charleston Black Eagles hope to get back in the win column at home against Oak Hill. Handoff to Junior Carson Treadway, making it look easy as he gets into the endzone, giving the Red Devils their first points. It was not the night for South Charleston as Oak Hill gets the shutout win 41-0 over the Black Eagles.

Over to Winfield, the Generals are looking to pull off the upset at home against the Nitro Wildcats. After a Nitro field goal, Winfield Quarter Back Jared Miller fakes a run and scrambles to his right. He throws one up to his receiver in the endzone, and he grabs it for a touchdown. The Wildcats go into Winfield and steal one from the Generals, 39-28.

Senior night for the Ripley Vikings as they were at Memorial Stadium taking on the Parkersburg Big Reds. Parkersburg’s Alex Greer hands off to AJ Payne who runs the ball 20-yards before he is taken down by Ripley’s Cameron Good. They get the payoff as Payne rushes through a group of Ripley’s players into the endzone for a touchdown. The Big Reds get the big win down in Ripley 56-21 over the Vikings.

In Poca, the Dots at home looking for a win against the Sissonville Indians. Indians have first possession when Maddox Ballog drops back, lets it fly and hits Brody Scott. He’ll bobble it a bit but maintains possession for a first down. At the half yard line, Caleb Pauley gets the rock. He’s lost in the pile with everyone looking for him, but he appears in the back of the endzone for the Indians’ first strike. The Indians hold on to that lead and pick up a big road win, 22-18.

Up in Mason, the Wahama White Falcons looking to stay undefeated against the Webster County Highlanders. First quarter, no score, Trace Simpkins with the White Falcons drops back to pass and launches one deep to Treyvon Bearhs, who is wide open for the 58-yard touchdown. Wahama gets to 8-0 on the season with a 63-14 win over Webster County.

Let’s head to Ohio, the Rock Hill Redmen looking to finish strong before the playoffs taking on Coal Grove. Hornets chose to receive and drove the ball all the way down the field. Handoff inside the 10 to Kaden Murphy, who weaves in for six on the first drive. Coal Grove gets the win over Rock Hill 26-7, they finish the regular season at 8-2.

Staying in Ironton, the Fighting Tigers looking to finish their regular season strong against Portsmouth. In the first half, Trojans kick off to Maddix Markel for the return deep in Tiger territory. Showing some speed, he runs past the defense down the sideline and into the endzone for the touchdown. Ironton beats Portsmouth 55-13.

Ending in Kentucky, we head to Matney Field as the Johnson Central Golden Eagles host the Ashland Tomcats. Golden Eagles start with the ball, and they immediately go to the ground. Braxton Perry hits the hole and busts it outside, getting Central into the redzone. They go to Perry again, and he reaches the ball over the goal line for a Johnson Central touchdown. Johnson Central gets to 9-0 and claims the district championship with a 35-0 win over Ashland.

The Russell Red Devils at home taking on the East Carter Raiders. In the second quarter, Russell Quarter Back Jayden Frasure is off and running for 40-yards. A few plays later, Frasure hands it off to Kaiden Benge for the touchdown. Russel takes down East Carter 35-6, making them District 6 champions.
