Woman with knife arrested after chasing man she said stole her Social Security card

2 facing charges in LR knife chase

Around 1:30 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at 10524 W. Markham St. in Little Rock, according to an arrest report from the Little Rock Police Department.

The officers spoke with an unnamed witness who observed Kenyatta Bush, 19, chasing Victor James, 32, with a knife and threatening to kill him, the report says. Officers then observed video of Bush running behind James with a knife, the report says.

Bush told officers James had stolen her Social Security card. James gave officers the card and said he did not know how he got it, the report says.

It was discovered that Bush was the protected party of a no-contact order, the report says.

James faces charges of theft of property and violation of a no-contact order.

Bush faces charges of terroristic threatening and aggravated assault on a family or household member. She was being held in the Pulaski County jail Monday with bail set at $5,000.

Suspects arrested in attempted theft

Around 2 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a disturbance with a weapon at 2400 Riverfront Drive in Little Rock, according to an arrest report from the Little Rock Police Department.

Officers arrived and located two suspects, Jaela Matthews, 29, and Aubreona Marshall, 26, and one victim, Ezekiel Scruggs, 33.

Matthews and Marshall had attempted to steal Scruggs’ license plate, the report says. Matthews reportedly pointed a gun at Scruggs while “tussling” over the plate, the report says.

Officers recovered the stolen plate from Marshall’s vehicle. She then told officers the gun belonged to her, the report says. Both Matthews and Marshall were detained, the report says.

Marshall faces charges of theft of property and aggravated robbery. She was being held in the Pulaski County jail Monday with bail set at $20,000.

Matthews faces charges of obstruction of governmental operations, theft of property and aggravated robbery. She was being held in the Pulaski County jail Monday with bail set at $50,000.
