Woman found dead in Blue Grass Fish and Wildlife Area

ELBERFELD, Ind. (WISH) — A woman was found dead in the Blue Grass Fish and Wildlife Area in Warrick County Sunday, according to Indiana State Police (ISP).

ISP, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the suspicious death of an unknown woman found near a boat ramp in the Blue Grass Fish and Wildlife Area on New Harmony Road near Klippel Road. A person fishing in the area found the woman at 1:23 p.m. Sunday. Foul play is suspected.

According to investigators, the woman is white, in her late teens to early 30’s, has dark hair, is five feet tall, and weighs 130 pounds.

Investigators ask that anyone with information concerning this incident or the possible identity of the woman contact Indiana State Police at 812-867-2079. Anyone with information can remain anonymous.

An autopsy will be conducted Monday morning.
