FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WOWK) — A woman was found dead from a gunshot wound in a home in the McDowell area of Floyd County Thursday.
According to a press release from the Kentucky State Police, troopers responded to a call of an unresponsive female at a home on E Back Street. When troopers arrived they found 34-year-old Jill Howell of Prestonsburg had died from a gunshot wound.
Crash closes Rt 93 in Lawrence County, Ohio
Howell was pronounced dead on scene by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office and taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The shooting is still under investigation.
