Several Central Arkansas schools and government offices have announced closures in the aftermath of this weekend’s winter storm.
This categorized list, compiled from school districts’ news releases and social media posts and arranged in alphabetical order by district name, is not comprehensive.
If your district is not listed, please consult your school’s website. Many districts have their own notification apps.
The following Central Arkansas school districts have announced that they will be closed Monday, Jan. 26:
— Benton School District
— Conway School District
— Little Rock School District – Monday and Tuesday
The following Central Arkansas colleges have announced that they will be closed Monday, Jan. 26:
— Arkansas State University, Beebe
— Philander Smith University – All classes will be held remotely
— University of Arkansas at Little Rock
— University of Arkansas, Pulaski Technical College
— University of Central Arkansas
The following local government offices have made announcements regarding operations on Monday, Jan. 26:
Little Rock
— The Little Rock Police Department, Fire Department and 911 center will remain fully staffed and operational.
— City of Little Rock sanitation and Waste Management recycling pickup is cancelled and will resume when road conditions permit.
— The gates of Crump Park, Hindman Park and Meriwether Park are closed to vehicles, but pedestrian access remains open.
— Rebsamen Park and First Tee golf courses are closed until Wednesday, Jan. 28, weather permitting.
— All restrooms within city parks are closed.
— The Little Rock Zoo will be closed and will reopen when pathways are clear.
North Little Rock
— North Little Rock city offices will be closed Monday.
— North Little Rock City Council meeting scheduled for Monday evening at 6:00 pm has also been canceled and will be rescheduled.
— The North Little Rock Sanitation Department will not run routes on Monday
