Windy & Cold Wednesday- Strong Winds Friday

This afternoon will be quite COLD and BLUSTERY across Nebraska. Strong north winds will gust 35–40 mph, making it feel like the 20s all day. Sunshine will be out across eastern Nebraska with cloudy skies further west. Winds will gradually calm by sunset.

Temperatures will feel like the 20s all day across eastern Nebraska. The sun might “try” and make it feel warmer.

This afternoon, north winds will gust 30–40 mph. This is just the start of the gusty winds!

A HIGH WIND WATCH is in effect starting Friday morning through Friday night. Wind gusts up to 50-60+ mph will be possible if not LIKELY. Some light snow showers will also occur, meaning blowing snow and reduced visibilities.

STRONG northwest wind gusts up to 55+ mph likely Friday morning and afternoon across Nebraska.

Friday morning and afternoon, blowing snow is expected from northwest Nebraska through eastern Nebraska Friday morning and afternoon. Light accumulations are anticipated, as strong winds will limit totals while reducing visibility at times.

Bundle up! Cool and windy conditions continue through the weekend. Light blowing snow is likely Friday across Nebraska. Late next week, a potential system could bring colder air with light rain/snow chances.
