GRAND RAPIDS, MI — In the heart of Grand Rapids’ Eastmont neighborhood, Noco Provisions has evolved into what general manager Ryan Sichta describes as “the local spot.”
The modern gastropub, 4609 Cascade Rd SE, offers elevated comfort food for everyone whether it’s a family dinner, first date or business lunch.
The restaurant is in its tenth year of operation. Sichta said it took time to find a sweet spot between formal sit-down and casual family-friendly.
Sichta and staff found a niche as “something for everyone” during the COVID-19 pandemic by staying available to the community when there were few other options.
“The provision store back in the day was where people went to get their eats. Sometimes it was flour and meat, but we have the same concept,” Sichta said. “We want to be the local spot.”

Noco’s menu is divided into distinct categories, including “Provisions” and “Northern Comfort.”
The Provisions portion of the menu includes handhelds like cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, wraps and tacos.
The Chicken Sandwich for $18 is a crispy chicken breast topped with white cheddar, kale slaw and green chili aioli on a sesame seed bun.
The Northern Comfort portion of the menu includes dishes like pasta, parmesan chicken, flank steak and seafood.
The Hoppin Jane is a vegetarian option for $28. It is a medley of black-eyed peas, Minnesota wild rice, smoked tomato sauce, butternut squash, cauliflower, spinach, roasted red peppers and green goddess dressing.
A popular appetizer or happy hour snack is the Noco Nachos for $16.50. It’s a bed of tortilla chips topped with roasted green chili queso, charred sweet corn, pickled red onions, cotija cheese, black beans, ranchero cream and cilantro.
The menu also includes a wide selection of salads, pizzas and desserts. A full-service bar serves cocktails, cold brews or a glass of wine.

The restaurant’s interior is elevated to meet the standard set by the food with luxury fixtures, tufted booths and checkered flooring around the bar. Sichta described the dining space as “sexy” and having “good ambiance.”
Behind the hostess stand, there is a wall of lighted compartments for wine club members. The lockers have engraved nameplates.
Member benefits also include private wine tastings, quarterly dinners, wholesale wine prices and preferential reservations.
The exclusive club is currently at capacity, but the restaurant is looking into the possibility of expanding the service.
