Our team coverage of the 2024 eclipse earned the Excellence in Innovation Award, with reporters covering the once-in-a-lifetime event from across the region.
Darren Perron’s “Death with Dignity” won for Hard News. The story features Bill Mares, a terminally-ill Burlington man who last year shared his final moments with WCAX before ending his own life with a doctor’s approval. It has also been nominated for a regional Emmy.
And, our team coverage of last year’s devastating flooding won in the Best Newscast category.
The prestigious awards come from the Radio Television News Directors Association and honor outstanding achievements in broadcast and digital journalism.
We now advance to the national Murrow award competition.
