The stage is set for an intriguing MHSAA Division 2 district championship gridiron clash Friday night when the undefeated South Lyon Lions (10-0) welcome the red-hot Dexter Dreadnaughts (9-1).
South Lyon, which has completed a remarkable turnaround after missing the postseason entirely last year, demonstrated its championship mettle last week by erupting for 45 consecutive points in a 45-21 semifinal victory over crosstown rival South Lyon East. The Lions will need another dominant performance from playmaker Gannon Limotte, who showcased his two-way talents with both a rushing touchdown and a pick-six in the semifinal.
Dexter enters on a six-game winning streak, powered by senior quarterback Cooper Arnedt and senior wideout Cole Novara, who orchestrated a first-quarter offensive explosion that saw the Dreadnaughts score 35 points en route to a 42-7 dismantling of Livonia Franklin in their semifinal contest last week.
Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on Friday, November 7 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
