The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a Washington man after he led the agency on two separate pursuits Friday.
Ethan Cole Ellis, 23, was arrested on one count of aggravated flight from an officer, illegal possession of stolen things, possession of a gun as a felon, and simple criminal damage to property, according to a SLPSO announcement.
The pursuit began Friday morning after deputies received reports of a burglary in the Grand Prairie area.
Ellis abandoned the allegedly stolen vehicle in a home’s backyard before breaking in.
While inside, Ellis stole a set of car keys before being chased out by an armed resident. Ellis then stole the resident’s vehicle.
Another pursuit began after a crash on Green Road in the Arnaudville area. He was arrested shortly after.
Ellis was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.
