SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – The Wahama White Falcons were unable to come away with their fourth state championship since 2021, as they fell to Pendleton County in the first game of the Class A softball championship with a 9-1 defeat in only five innings.

Wahama advanced to the championship game after defeating Greenbrier West for the second time in as many days, but ultimately fell to 32-2 Pendleton County.

The Logan Wildcats did not make the Class AA championship game, as they were eliminated during Thursday’s morning session in a 5-3 defeat against Petersburg. Oak Glen would go on to win the Class AA state championship over Petersburg later on Thursday afternoon.
