Video shows motorcyclist go flying after being hit by 15-year-old driver near Heritage High School in Menifee, police say

MENIFEE, Calif. (KABC) — It was a scary scene for Heritage High School students taking part in a walkout in Menifee on Friday when a driver sent a motorcyclist flying after a big collision.

Police say the driver of the Nissan seen on video striking the motorcyclist was a 15-year-old with no license.

The collision happened near the intersection of Briggs Road and Highway 74 just before 9:30 a.m., according to the Menifee Police Department.

The teen was reportedly making a U-turn to find parking and join the students in the walkout. That’s when the 18-year-old motorcyclist was struck unintentionally.

The motorcyclist, the 15-year-old driver and the juvenile passengers in the teen’s car are all OK, and no arrest has been made, according to police. Drugs and/or alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors.

The motorcyclist reported a minor complaint of pain but was not transported to the hospital, police said.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Officer Clay with the Menifee Police Department Traffic Unit at (951) 723-1566 or the Traffic Unit at (951) 723-1500.

Students across Southern California walked out in full force on Friday, protesting against ICE in their communities.

From Ventura County to the Inland Empire and everywhere in between, thousands took to the streets.

They chanted and held signs, calling for an end to what they describe as aggressive federal immigration enforcement.
