The Hurricanes closed the 2025 season by playing in the national title game on their home field, Hard Rock Stadium.

They will begin the 2026 campaign on the other side of the country.

The ACC released its 2026 football schedule on Monday evening, and Miami’s schedule starts with a season-opener in Palo Alto, California, as UM faces Stanford on Friday, Sept. 4.

The Hurricanes’ 2026 opponents went a combined 73-77 last season.

Unlike in 2025, when the Hurricanes spent most of the season’s first two months at home — and played all of their games in Florida — Miami begins the 2026 season with three out-of-state road trips in its first five games. Additionally, their first three games are weeknight games.

After traveling to Stanford for the first time in program history to begin the season, UM faces Florida A&M on Thursday, Sept. 10, at home before going on the road again to face Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on Friday, Sept. 18.

The Hurricanes come back home to play Central Michigan on Sept. 26 before traveling to play Clemson on the road on Oct. 3. UM has lost its last two games at Clemson dating back to 2010.

After a week off on Oct. 10, the Hurricanes host rival Florida State — against whom they have a two-game winning streak — before playing Pittsburgh at Hard Rock Stadium. Miami then goes back on the road to play Bill Belichick and North Carolina on Halloween. Chapel Hill, North Carolina, has been a scary place for the Hurricanes lately; UNC has won three straight games vs. UM at Kenan Stadium as part of a five-game win streak against Miami.

The last month of the regular season starts with a massive game, as the Hurricanes travel to South Bend, Indiana, to play Notre Dame in a rematch of last year’s season-opener. UM’s win over the Fighting Irish at Hard Rock Stadium was the key part of the resume that got Miami into the playoffs over Notre Dame.

After facing Notre Dame, the Hurricanes close out the regular season with three home games against reigning ACC champion Duke, Virginia Tech (and new coach James Franklin) and Boston College.

The Duke game comes with its share of potential drama, as Miami is in the midst of trying to poach Blue Devils quarterback Darian Mensah. Duke has sued Mensah, claiming the quarterback is violating his NIL contract.
