UJ Ends NAIA Era At National Outdoor Track & Field

MARION, IN – After seven decades, the University of Jamestown’s time in NAIA athletic competition is past.

Three athletes represented UJ at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which concluded Friday at Indiana Wesleyan University’s Wildcat Track & Field Complex.

On Friday, Paige Erhardt failed in all three of her attempts in the women’s high jump.  Erhardt, a senior from Hazen, was third in the NSAA meet and cleared 1.66m (five feet, five and a quarter inches).  Her failed efforts in the national meet were at 1.61m (five feet, three and a half inches).

On Thursday, Ashton Judge finished 15th in the men’s long jump, with a best attempt of 7.09m (23 feet, three inches).  Judge, a sophomore from Harrington Park, Australia, was the NSAA champion.

On Wednesday, the Jimmies’ Dawson Sedivec finished 10th in the hammer throw after having the fourth best throw in the country in the regular season and setting a program record in winning the NSAA title.  Sedivec, a senior from Cummings, threw 57.39m (188 feet, three inches) on Wednesday.

Starting in 2025-26, Jamestown will be a member of NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
