Two men were hospitalized following a one-car crash on Route 8 in Thomaston early Saturday morning.

Troopers responded to a motor vehicle collision around 3:14 a.m. on Route 8 North in Thomaston, according to the Connecticut State Police.

Troopers learned that a 2013 Honda Accord was on Route 8 North just north of Exit 40 when it veered off the road for an unknown reason, struck a guardrail on the right shoulder then collided with a stone wall in the median, state police said.

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Torrington, was transported to Waterbury Hospital by Litchfield EMS with non-life-threatening injuries, according to state police.

The passenger, a 19-year-old man, was transported to Waterbury Hospital by Thomaston EMS with suspected serious injuries, according to state police.

The Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad is conducting the investigation.
