Two people injured after fire in Attleboro

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — The Attleboro Fire Department said that two people were injured after a fire at a home on East Street on Sunday.

Firefighters responded around 2 p.m. to find smoke coming from the first floor residence.

A male resident suffered burns on his head and face as well as smoke inhalation and was transported to the hospital, while a woman who assisted him exit the home suffered smoke inhalation and was also transported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
