BISMARCK, N.D. — North Dakota Health and Human Services has reported two cases of measles in Grand Forks County, making it the third county in the state.

According to the NDHHS, the cases have been linked to international travel.

The total number of reported cases in North Dakota now stands at 21 since May 2. So far, one person has been hospitalized.

Williams, Cass, and Grand Forks Counties have all reported measles infections.

NDHHS says that all cases involved unvaccinated people. The recent measles cases reported in Williams and Cass counties have been linked to known measles cases.

NDHHS recommends early and accelerated MMR vaccination for individuals living or traveling to Williams County.

NDHHS will update vaccination guidance for counties as new data becomes available.
