Two children killed in BG fire

An overnight fire at a Bowling Green apartment complex left two children dead.

The Bowling Green Fire Department said it was dispatched at 2:15 a.m. to a reported structure fire at Willow Creek Apartments on Shive Lane.

BGFD crew members encountered heavy fire upon arrival at the scene, and additional BGFD units were requested to aid in the fire suppression and search operations.

Two children were found dead inside the structure, BGFD said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
