Two arrested in Vinita suspicious death, OSBI officials say

VINITA, Okla. (KFOR) – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest of two individuals in a suspicious death in Vinita.

According to OSBI, assistance was requested from the Vinita Police Department on September 22 when officers responded to a property along South Foreman Street in Vinita, as an adult male was transported to a local hospital and later died.

Police say the victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who determined the victim suffered injuries consistent with homicide.

After gathering evidence, OSBI officials identified suspects, 43-year-old Renee Carpenter and 38-year-old Jacob Bailey.

Both individuals are now facing Second-Degree Murder complaints awaiting the Craig County District Attorney’s Office, which will determine official charges.
