TVFC members judge 4-H Culinary Arts event | Livingston/Tangipahoa

Members from Tangipahoa Volunteers for Family and Community on May 12 served as judges for the annual Southeast Regional 4-H Culinary Arts Contest event at the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Training Facility in Walker.

Jean Hebert, Pam Villagran, Kathy Brandon and Dalphne Griffin served as judges. Jenakay Foster, a friend of Hebert’s, assisted with judging the entries. The club members taste, then judged prepared food items from several categories based on a point system for four criteria: Recipe, Taste, Appearance, and Uniqueness. The food categories included Seafood, Egg, Beef, Poultry, Sugar, Louisiana Commodities and Wild Game.

Tangipahoa Volunteers for Family and Community is an all-volunteer arm of LSU Agriculture Extension Service. It consists of two clubs: Wednesday Volunteers for Family and Community and Sunshine Ladies.
