Trojanettes down Logan County 7-1

Homestanding Barren County rolled to a 7-1 girls’ soccer win against Logan County on Monday.

Emma Powell scored two goals and added an assist to to lead the Trojanettes. Neela Furlong also scored two goals, Emma Mouser, Mahalia Burton and Shelby Byrd each scored a goal, Adeline Coleman tallied two assists and Rebecca Boone also had an assist in the win.

Goalkeeper Hannah Wilson finished with five saves for Barren County (2-0), which visits District 15 foe Warren East on Tuesday.

Logan County (1-3) is at Allen County-Scottsville on Thursday.

Breckinridge County 2, Edmonson County 0

Visiting Breckinridge County earned a 2-0 win against Edmonson County on Monday.

Lady Cats goalkeeper Haley Shields made eight saves in the loss.

Edmonson County (1-1) hosts District 12 rival Butler County on Tuesday.

Boys’ soccer

Logan County 2, Warren East 1

Visiting Logan County earned a 2-1 win against Warren East on Monday.

Asher Woodall and Royer Escalante each scored a goal for the Cougars.

Goalkeeper James Bryan finished with five saves for Logan County (2-0), which returns to action Tuesday at home against Muhlenberg County.

Warren East (0-3) faces District 15 rival Barren County on the road Tuesday.

Volleyball

Breckinridge County 2, Edmonson County 0

Breckinridge County earned a 2-0 (25-16, 25-21) road win against Edmonson County on Monday.

For the host Lady Cats, Shaylee Alexander finished with a team-high four kills. Rylee Skaggs had three kills, Amira Seymour tallied two kills and four aces, Bailey Ferguson had two kills, Reagan Ferguson totaled five assists and Emma Hight had four assists.

Edmonson County (0-1) faces visiting Hart County on Tuesday.
