CRETE, Neb. (KLKN) — The Crete Police Department (CPD) is urging drivers to use caution after a train derailed on Oct. 21.

Due to the train derailment, the traffic on Highway 33 and Redwood and Arizona avenues was diverted in the morning.

The road was damaged but CPD said the BNSF Railway Company was working to quickly resolve the issue.

Highway 33 is now open to traffic but is reduced to one lane for bridge repairs on the Blue River Bridge.
