One of Arkansas’ most enduring family businesses is marking a major milestone in 2026. Tipton & Hurst, the state’s longest-operating florist, is celebrating 140 years in business, a rare achievement rooted in generations of craftsmanship, tradition and connection.
Founded in 1886, the company plans to commemorate its anniversary throughout the year with special offerings and storytelling that reflect the role flowers play in life’s most meaningful moments, from everyday gestures to major celebrations.
The anniversary celebration begins with a fresh take on a familiar tradition. For a limited time, customers who order a classic dozen roses will receive 14 roses instead, symbolizing one rose for each decade Tipton & Hurst has served Arkansas. The two bonus roses are added at no extra cost and are available in-store and online through the end of February at all five locations in Conway, Little Rock, North Little Rock, Pine Bluff and Rogers.
“This anniversary is really about gratitude — for our customers, our employees and the generations of families who have trusted us with their most important moments,” said Howard Hurst, president and owner. “Valentine’s Day felt like the perfect place to begin telling that story, because love has always been at the heart of what we do.”
Now led by its fourth generation of family ownership and recently expanded into Northwest Arkansas with its fifth location, Tipton & Hurst has evolved from a single flower shop into a statewide operation. Today, the company is known for award-winning floral design, Arkansas’s largest gift registry and a curated selection of home décor and gifts.
“Our goal is to honor where we’ve been while continuing to serve our customers in meaningful ways today,” Hurst said. “This anniversary isn’t just about looking back — it’s about celebrating love, connection and community all year long.”
Additional anniversary offerings and stories will roll out throughout 2026. More information about Tipton & Hurst and its full range of services can be found on the company’s website.
