BISMARCK, N.D. (NDHP) – Three troopers graduated from the North Dakota Law Enforcement Training Academy on Friday, June 19, 2026, following successful completion of a comprehensive law enforcement training program. The newly sworn North Dakota State Patrol troopers will begin field training Monday, June 22, and be temporarily stationed at posts throughout the state.
Lt. Evan Savageau, Training Director of the ND State Patrol Law Enforcement Academy opened the ceremony stating, “The academy has prepared these graduates for the challenges ahead, but their learning and growth as troopers will continue throughout their careers.”
North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong expressed gratitude to the new troopers and their families. He stated, “Every time someone gets from Point A to Point B safely, that’s a parent or child arriving home to their family. That’s the impact of the work you are about to do.“
Superintendent Colonel Daniel Haugen spoke at the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of a deep, proud history and stated, “Hold yourself true to our agency’s values: Integrity, Commitment, Respect, Professionalism, Loyalty, and Accountability.”
North Dakota Supreme Court Justice Jon Jensen administered the oath of office. A badge of authority, which is issued only to duly appointed and acting members of the State Patrol, was presented to each graduate.
The graduates and their hometowns are Austin Brockling, Grand Forks, ND; Luke Griffith, Chehalis, WA; and Codie Plotner, Fontana, CA. The assigned duty locations of the new troopers will be announced following successful completion of field training later this year.
