Police in Scottsville have arrested a third person in connection with an investigation into living conditions at a home that authorities believe contributed to a 1-year-old child’s death.
The Scottsville Police Department said Friday that Tina Renee Price, 51, was arrested on charges of first-degree criminal abuse (child 12 years of age or younger), knowingly abuse/neglect of an adult by a person and second-degree cruelty to animals.
Police said animal cruelty charges were expected after more than a dozen animals were removed from the Cottage Drive home that has been at the center of the death investigation.
According to SPD, members of Allen County Animal Control were called Friday morning to the residence and removed 12 cats, three dogs and one opossum from the home.
“Sadly, most of the animals showed severe signs of neglect, and several are in such poor condition that humane euthanasia will be necessary,” SPD wrote Friday in a post on the agency’s Facebook page.
SPD said that charges would be forthcoming based on evidence gathered from this response.

“In addition, multiple agencies are actively working together to address the welfare and placement needs of other vulnerable individuals associated with this residence,” SPD wrote on its social media page.
Two people who lived at the home – Alexandrae Renae Price and Deavan Williams, both 22 – are already in custody after being arrested Monday night when police responded to a report of an unresponsive child who was in the couples’ care.
The child, identified in court records as Alexandrae Price’s son, Mason Moulding, was pronounced dead Monday at the Medical Center in Scottsville.
Alexandrae Renae Price and Williams each face a charge of first-degree criminal abuse (child 12 years of age or younger).
SPD and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office have collaborated on the death investigation.
Police allege that the pair “acted in extreme neglect” by knowingly allowing the child to live in a home with poor living conditions that posed health risks.
According to Price’s arrest citation, the child lived in a basement room on the lower level of the residence that lacked running water and relied on an outside hose as a water source.
The citation described a large amount of trash and debris in the home, along with flies and spiders, poor ventilation and high moisture levels.
Alexandrae Price remains jailed under a $40,000 cash bond, while Williams is in Allen County Detention Center under a $30,000 cash bond.
Tina Price’s bond status was pending as of Friday evening.
