Teen girl still in ICU after Halloween night collision with car in Southern Pines, police say

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (WNCN) — A teen girl was still in intensive care on Monday after she was hit by a car on Halloween night in Southern Pines, police said.

The incident was reported just before 9 p.m. Friday in the area of U.S. 1 and Council Way, just north of Waffle House and Saunders Boulevard, according to a Southern Pines Police Department news release.

A 16-year-old girl was hit by a car in the area and was critically injured, officers said.

The girl was then airlifted by helicopter to UNC Chapel Hill Hospital for treatment, police said.

“Members of the Southern Pines Police Department reconstruction team responded to the accident scene,” the news release said.
