TAYLORSVILLE — A Taylorsville man who has been the focus of child sex abuse investigations in the past has been arrested for allegedly abusing several girls over the past 20 years.
Kenneth Brian Krogh, 55, was arrested Thursday for investigation of three counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child.
The latest investigation began Oct. 1 when Taylorsville police talked to a woman who claimed she was sexually assaulted by her neighbor, Krogh, in the fall of 2002, according to a police booking affidavit.
The next day, the woman called police back to report a second woman was allegedly abused by Krogh during a sleepover with her friend in the summer of 2000, the affidavit states.
“Due to the previous cases and the assistance of the complainant, I was able to locate a third victim,” the arresting officer wrote in the affidavit. “The victim stated that she was told by the suspect not to say anything and admitted that she had not disclosed the incident to anyone until she was contacted by the police and was disclosing this sexual assault in detail for the first time.”
That woman said she was assaulted in 1997. All three women say they have had significant emotional and psychological issues throughout their lives because of the assaults.
Krogh was previously charged in 2008 in 3rd District Court with aggravated sexual abuse of a child, but that case was dismissed right before it was scheduled to go to trial, according to court records.
“I have also learned that in 2023, Kenneth was identified as a suspect in another sexual assault of a child incident, but that case had been closed by the Division of Child and Family Services due to the child victim being uncooperative,” the affidavit states.
Police pulled Krogh over just as he was leaving work on Thursday and arrested him.
“Once Kenneth was informed that multiple women stated that he had committed sexual assault against them when they were children, Kenneth chose not to talk and asked for an attorney,” according to the affidavit.
