A new drama called The Madison is debuting in March, and a big part of it was filmed right here in Big Sky Country.

Production for the first season ran from late summer into winter 2024, then resumed in fall 2025 for season two. Some scenes meant to look like New York City were filmed in North Texas, but Montana is really the show’s visual heart.

The series follows the Clyburn family, originally from New York City, who relocate to southwest Montana after a tragedy shakes their lives. The move is meant to help them heal and reset, but as you can imagine, adjusting to life in Montana brings its own challenges and emotional moments. It mixes family drama with the kind of sweeping Western atmosphere that Montana naturally provides.

Star-Studded Cast Announced

This isn’t a small production. The cast includes Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell as the family’s parents, along with Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, and several others. Will Arnett is also set to appear in a guest role. With names like that attached, expectations are pretty high.

Not a Yellowstone Spinoff, But Familiar Feeling

Because Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone, is involved, many assume this is directly tied to that universe.
